The Sinking City 2 PC System Requirements
Official minimum and recommended specs for August 18 launch.
Frogwares published PC system requirements alongside pre-orders in July 2026. The Sinking City 2 targets Unreal Engine 5 visuals with TSR upscaling on PC. Both minimum and recommended tiers require Windows 11 64-bit, DirectX 12, SSD storage, and 70 GB of free space.
Console versions on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S do not publish granular specs, but expect performance modes similar to other UE5 horror titles (30 fps quality / 60 fps performance where supported).
Minimum requirements (1080p / 30 fps Low)
| Component | Specification |
|---|---|
| OS | Windows 11 x64 |
| CPU | Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X |
| RAM | 16 GB |
| GPU | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 8 GB or AMD RX 5700 8 GB |
| DirectX | Version 12 |
| Storage | 70 GB SSD |
Frogwares notes this profile targets 1080p at 30 fps on the Low preset using TSR or comparable upscalers.
Recommended requirements (1440p / 60 fps Balanced)
| Component | Specification |
|---|---|
| OS | Windows 11 x64 |
| CPU | Intel Core i5-14600K or AMD Ryzen 5 7600X |
| RAM | 32 GB |
| GPU | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti 12 GB or AMD RX 7900 XT 12 GB |
| DirectX | Version 12 |
| Storage | 70 GB SSD |
This tier targets 1440p at 60 fps on the Balanced preset. Higher presets or native 4K will need stronger hardware than listed.
Demo-specific performance warnings
The Steam demo disclaimer states that builds in active development may exceed final performance costs. Preview events reported frame drops on mid-range laptops even when meeting minimum specs. If the demo stutters:
- Install on an NVMe SSD, not a SATA drive
- Lower shadow and water simulation settings first
- Enable TSR / resolution scaling before touching texture quality
- Update GPU drivers to the latest WHQL package
Console storage
PS5 and Xbox Series installs will likely approach the same 70 GB footprint plus day-one patches. Keep double that free for updates and optional HD texture packs if offered.
Handheld and Steam Deck
Frogwares has not certified Steam Deck support. Early preview code struggled on handheld APUs. Treat Deck play as experimental until post-launch compatibility reports arrive.
Compare your build
Use the PC Spec Checker for a side-by-side checklist. If you are below minimum, consider cloud streaming or console versions listed on Platforms and Stores.

Upscaler settings
Frogwares benchmarks used TSR (Temporal Super Resolution). NVIDIA DLSS or AMD FSR may appear in launch options — test each after day-one patches if frame times spike in rainy outdoor scenes.
Laptop thermal throttling
Mobile GPUs sharing power with CPU may drop below 30 fps in the demo floodgate area even when specs look adequate. Use a cooling pad and plug into wall power during first playthrough.
Monitor refresh targets
Minimum spec targets 30 fps — a 60 Hz monitor is sufficient. Recommended 60 fps pairs well with 120 Hz displays for smoother camera pans.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Does the game require Windows 11?
Official PC specs list Windows 11 x64. Windows 10 compatibility has not been confirmed for launch.
Is 16 GB RAM enough?
Yes for minimum settings. 32 GB is recommended for higher presets and background streaming.
Can I install on HDD?
SSD is listed as required. HDD installs may be blocked or suffer severe streaming hitches in UE5 open areas.
